Four ways Twitter can keep you under customers’ noses

Kansas City-area restaurants are turning to Twitter to make sure they stay right under customers’ noses.

Twitter lets the eateries interact with customers, touting specials, updates and insider info about their food.

Grünauer, 101 W. 22nd St., Kansas City, uses its Twitter account more for interaction than food promotion. In fact, the account joked Thursday that for once it planned to tweet about its food. (Typical tweets cover an eclectic mix of topics, ranging from jokes to sports.)

Chip’s Chocolate Factory in Crown Center  not only promotes its sweets — chocolate-dipped Oreos with Spider-Man faces on top, anyone? — but it keeps followers updated about Crown Center events, such as tweeting pictures showing progress on Legoland Discovery Center.
