The explosion of social media has made it one of the hottest topics in the business world. But that doesn't mean businesses are quick to create social media policies.
The vast majority of Top Workplace participants who responded to a questionnaire about having a social media policy either reported that they did not have one or that they were in the process of developing one.
Marty Mordarski, director of research and membership at ERC, a regional human resource service organization, said he's not surprised. He plans to conduct a survey of Northeast Ohio companies later this year, mainly because ERC has fielded so many requests from its 1,100 members seeking sample policies in the last year.
Whether a company is active in social media or not, its employees probably are.
